Air Entraining Agent is a type of concrete admixture that can introduce a large number of uniform, stable and closed tiny bubbles (with diameters mostly ranging from 0.05 to 1.0 mm) into concrete during the mixing process, which are then evenly distributed inside the concrete.

Most air-entraining agents are surface-active substances. When incorporated into concrete, they adsorb directionally at the gas-liquid interface, reduce surface tension, prevent the tiny bubbles generated during mixing from coalescing or rupturing easily, and finally keep the bubbles stably present in the concrete. After the concrete hardens, these bubbles remain evenly distributed in the cement stone structure.
